Airbnb hosting

Not sure this is the right board but hope someone can help.

I’m going to be hosting my flat which I did a few years ago but via a co host company.

This time they (and a couple others) have been rubbish at getting back to me and so I’m going to do it myself, hiring a company that does the clean/linen change.

Does anyone know if Airbnb runs background checks on prospective guests?

If you host without a managing co host what are some of the pitfalls to look out for?

As far as know, they do not do background checks on renters. This is why some towns are enraged at the dreadful visitors.

It is yet another example of a company making a great deal of money by not doing much more than being a mechanical middle-man.

No they don’t, but you can request someone uploads proof their I.D, whilst holding it and including their face in the shot also.
