DH and I are looking to go on holiday.
We are thinking somewhere warm and not too long on the plane.
Italy, Greece, Spain, or something a bit more far flung (when allowed, obviously).

The budget for us 2 for 7 nights is about £2k give or take a few hundred.

I want somewhere without young kids, so am looking at adults only resorts.

Preferably quiet, relaxed and not English-ised.

Can anyone recommend some?

I've stayed at two brilliant adults only hotels

The Marmaris Bay Resort in Turkey (it was owned by Tui when I went a few years ago). The most surprising part was the food. I'm a vegetarian and am used to mediocre food at all-inclusive hotels but everything I had there was freshly cooked and delicious. The evening entertainment was also great. No cheesy pop acts, just some laid back musicians playing while we enjoyed a few drinks.

The Steigenberger Hotel in Marsa Alam, Egypt was lovely. Loads of sun loungers on the beach and attentive staff who remember your habits quickly and start to turn up with what you want before you've had the chance to ask. The marine life is incredible if that's your thing. The fish were far bigger than any I've seen in other parts of Egypt (highlight being a 1metre long starry puffer fish). I also had a surprise when I walked around to the peer on the other side of the bay and jumped in to find a turtle grazing a few metres away. It hung around underwater for a good 20 minutes just swimming around people without a care in the world.

Wow, they both sound right up my street! I'm putting both those high on my list now. I've seen the Steigenburger pop up on my Red Sea searches, but its always a bit pricey... sounds like its worth it though.

Thanks for the recommendations. Smile
