Escaping for a long childfree break in Manchester next weekend. Need 2 nights somewhere central - budget £200 plus would like decent restaurant recommendations - we love sushi & seafood (food/wine budget is unlimited - you can see where our priorities lie!)

Didsbury House Hotel or Eleven Didsbury Park. Have stayed there twice (a third time coming up) very boutique, privately owned so no corporate nonsense. Didsbury House also have spa treatments available. Plus they do really good late availability offers.
Didsbury itself is lovely with lots of nice bars and restaurants plus its only about 10 minutes into the city centre.
We like Fellucinis in Didsbury for food but its italian not sure if thats your thing.
(p.s. the breakfasts are to die for)

Really cant recommend these hotels enough, best places we've ever stayed

Live near Mchr so don't really know the hotels well enough to advise. however, if you want something a bit different, colleagues of mine recently stayed in the Atrium by Bridgestreet apartments. They were LOVELY and fairly close to town. see here. Bedroom, nicely fitted out bathroom, lounge and kitchenette.
Restaurants, depends what you want. The Yang Sing is a very famous Chinese restaurant; el Rincon is a wonderful tapas bar; and Le Petit Blanc is also very good.

Will have a think about a few more, tho we usually eat closer to home these days.

Did consider the Atrium apartments but plumped for the Arora International Hotel for a few pounds more since I fancy the look of their Obsidian Bar & Restaurant (in case we're feeling exceptionally lazy one of the nights & don't want to bother venturing out). Still open for restaurant suggestions for decent lunches/dinners.
