Rome hotel recommendations

We hope to visit Rome with three kids aged 10,13, and 16. Any recommendations for hotels? There are so many on booking.com I don't know where to start. Needs to be 4star standard plus and preferably near Spanish steps or Trevi Fountain.

Hotel de la Minerve or cheaper but still nice Alberto Santa chiara both right beside the pantheon, fab location lots of nice little streets for shopping, eating, close to piazza navona, trevi etc. Enjoy!

Does it have to be a hotel? We stayed at the principessa trevi apartment twice ( via booking.com or Airbnb I can't remember) It's lovely and you can hear the trevi fountain from the terrace.

Thank you! I agonised for ages and then decided to go just the other side of the river at Le Meridien Visconti quite near the Vatican. Kids are very excited (well, my DD aged 10 is ;) )
