DH and I hoping to go on a very belated honeymoon to Thailand in January for around 2 1/2 weeks (🤞🤞).

He's been but only to Phuket for a martial arts camp. I've never been and am overwhelmed by the choice!

What shall we do? We're both love to do cultural things - our most recent trip was to Japan and we just walked for hours and hours every day seeing temples and things you could only see in Japan. We're also massive foodies and will want to eat everything!

A few beach days would be great as well as somewhere for a bit of a night out (not clubbing!).

Would like to go to an elephant sanctuary but I'm very wary of finding a real ethical one. Don't want to touch them or ride on them or anything.

I'm not overly excited about Bangkok but understand we'll need to have a night there either side. If anyone could share their itinerary would be appreciated!

When we went to Kanchanaburi we stayed overnight on a raft on the river. There was about six little rooms on rafts, with hammocks outside, and a raft at the end with a few tables where you had your meals and a bar. In the evening they sailed this raft down the river to waterfall where we all showered. It was amazing and the whole trip, including a guided tour of the death railway cost us around £80 for two of us.

Sooo we're doing 2 nights in Bangkok - 5 nights in Chiang Mai - Coconut Island for a week's island hopping / chilling - Bangkok for 1 night - home.

201 days needs to go very fast please. The Thai government look good and on track to be fully reopened by the 1st January.

This sounds brilliant - I am thinking about Thailand early next year too, Covid permitting - so many ideas on this thread!

Yet again, I book something and it goes on the red list 😂 crossing everything that we're ok for March because I got cocky and booked a non refundable resort.
