Hi all.
I'm wondering if anyone has been to both of the above resorts and if so which did you prefer?
Thinking of a relaxing week in winter covid permitting (2 adult and 2 kids ages 2 & 4).
Thanks in advance for any tips.

I've been to both and Mogan is by far my first choice! It's my happy place and I can't wait to go back in August (quarantine or no quarantine!) It has a lovely harbour with great restaurants. Everything within walking distance and the hotel we stay in is great!

Playa Blanca is nice, but a little bit more built up and spread out. It also feels a bit busier!

Thank you very much for the reply crazycatlady83 - very far in advance yet but any restaurant recommendations? :-) thank you again.
Hoping to go in January

Yes, I've been to both. PdM is much more compact and attractive and has a lovely beach/port area with restaurants, bars and a nice pedestrianised area, whereas PB is a long, sprawling resort with an ugly modern centre and lots of huge resort hotels straggling along the coast. So in terms of resort I'd choose PdM, but I actually liked the island of Lanzarote better.

We went for a week to each island and had a car and explored and we just really loved Lanzarote. It's weird and other-worldly and we really loved it, whereas Gran Canaria is a lot more built up, has a lot more ugly developments, a huge concete works, strip malls, warehouses, etc. along the east coast near the airport. It does have some cute little towns up in the hilly interior, but the roads are narrow, winding and not for the faint-hearted or nervous driver. I'm neither, fortunately, but it did takes AGES to get anywhere in the middle due to the nature of the roads. If you want to just chill by the pool and potter with little ones though, you could do either and be perfectly happy for a week.
