Chessington - After 2pm Ticket and any other options of what to do!

I booked a trip down south this weekend. We are going to the Grufallo Trail in Essex on Saturday and then head over to Epsom and go to Chessington on Sunday. I stupidly forgot to book tickets for Chessington (I was too afraid of the ever-changing guidance) and low-behold the full day tickets are sold out and only after 2pm remaining. The park is open until 7pm though so thats 5 hours. Is that enough? Its only me, husband and our 2 year old.

Any other suggestions on what we can do during the morning?

I think 5 hours is perfect for a 2 year old.

If you have National Trust membership Claremont Garden is nice for a wander around. Or you could get lunch at Chessington garden center if you don’t want anything too active.

Was going to suggest crazy golf but 2 years old might be too young!

Hobbledown or Godstone farm are great.

There’s a gruffalo trail at Alice Holt in Farnham, I don’t know what the one in Essex is like but Essex-Chessington feels like quite a schlep so thought I’d mention it if that’s more convenient for you!

Hobbledown is great but pricey and might be a bit much with Chessington. There are lots of places fir a walk or to visit a park if you want to keep it low key but do you want something a bit more special?

Didn't actually add the places I was thinking of:
Wisley Gardens
Guildford Spectrum swimming pool with slides etc
Polesden Lacey
Box Hill
Cheam Park (good playground)
Epsom Common
Rascals soft play in Epsom

Are you going to Essex for anything else other than the Gruffalo trail? Is it the one near Brentwood? If so, I’d skip it and just head towards Epsom.

It’s ok but I wouldn’t make a huge tip or detour to visit.

After 2pm will be fine for a two year old. Five hours is enough- and after about 4pm it gets a lot quieter.

Painshill might be a good shout, nice lake, bits and bobs to see, ducks, ice cream, playground. Calm. Then chessington.
