We have paid a low deposit with tui. Not sure whether to pay balance of deposit. Will we be able to change it if can’t travel for covid ? We can’t afford to be quarantined in hotel. Will tui rebook us next year or refund does anyone know? Can’t get through on their line and can’t find advice ok website that def applicable to our dates,
Wondering whether to lose money we spent or to chance it??? It almost a year away
I booked when we were advised that we could travel on May this year so don’t be too harsh on me please as I feel bit silly for being so positive it all be over

I have one booked for January to Mexico. Tui do not fly to any destination where you must quarantine in the destination or hotel-quarantine on your return. If they cancel you can rebook or get a refund. But if there is self-isolation on your return, that isn't covered. For me that isn't an issue, but it will be for some. That said, if things are much improved by next April then the deposit is the least of your problems! As far as I am concerned, I am so fed up that if my plane to Mexico doesn't go next January, I'm willing to try swimming there!

Thank you & surely things will be more normal by January.

I have booked for May (a rolling booking since 2020) I would say that I'm 40/60 that we will go, that's 60 in favour of not going Sad

Oh no I’m hoping the Americans will share their jabs as it’s a popular destination for them. Fingers crossed for us all. More time to bikini bod ready I guess 😂

I was booked for last year to go to Mexico. Got the money refunded back into my account without even asking for it. I am going to book for next Easter, hopefully it will be OK by then.

FYI, I have just had one cancelled for the end of this June to Tunisia. I was sort of expecting it, but I can't fault Tui. Email to explain it all, laid out the options very clearly. As I'd already had an "uplift" - this was a rebooking from early May, I had already decided that I'd get my money refunded and make decisions later. I was a bit gutted though, as I had booked this last year and had managed to get a 5* all inclusive spa hotel for two weeks in one of my favourite towns, with upgraded flights and luggage, and the last rebooking paid for me to upgrade to a junior suite. And all for a ridiculously low price because I'd booked when prices were rock bottom and they just wanted to sell something.

So I phoned up to get my money refunded yesterday, they pointed out I could get an uplift if I re-booked. I pointed out that I couldn't because I had already had one, so thanks but no I'll have the money back. Long story short, the offered me a free upgrade to a suite in September. I swear to God that (a) it was too good to turn down (the total I have actually paid for this is £1246.75) and (b) if I can't go in late September I shall be revising my opinion of the Gunpowder Plot, and I do not mean that I would like to buy fireworks...

It's definitely worth haggling.

Wow moon dust. Well that’s good news that they are being accommodating. Worth holding on for at that price. I went into tui store and she checked abs found all my terms and conditions. I am going to have a good read & have a week or so before need to pay. I really hopeful that we are reaching the end and it’s another year away,
Thanks for replying just was having a moment after all the usual media scaremongering & feeling sad that the kids were so excited about it.

Well if things are not back to normal by April then we really are in a mess. I hope you get to go. We went to Mexico last September and it was a bit weird/empty because of COVID but we still had a great time. I don’t ever want to fly anywhere in a mask again, however.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve just seen it. Glad you had a good time
