Going abroad while pregnant

Hi so I need some advice. I want to go on holiday for 5 days and the flight is 3 hours. I will be coming up to 30 weeks when I go. Has anyone been abroad at 30 weeks?

I think you might need to have a letter from your GP to fly at 30 weeks. Check with the airline. I went when I was about 28 weeks. I took a letter but no one asked me for it at check in as I wore a big hoody! But on the plane they noticed and made me move seats away from the door.
Other than that there was no problems. In fact the Italians made a real fuss of me!
Enjoy!

Yes, I travelled regularly during both my pregnancies and it was fine, as long as you're having a normal pregnancy with no health concerns. If you do travel, just get the okay from your doctor and take your medical notes with you, just in case. Also make a note of the local emergency number and where the nearest medical centre/hospital is. I'd also suggest not going to any destination that you would definitely not want to give birth in, so stick to places with good hygiene and medical care.

You may need a fit-to-fly letter, check the regulations of your airline and also. the country you fly into.

Also, ensure your travel insurance not only covers hospital bills for you but also for your baby in case you go into premature labour and give birth. Also, it should cover costs for staying abroard if you can't take a preemie on a plane for several weeks. It is often not standard inthe T&Cs so. read them carefully. and check with your insurance.
