Home swap sites or experience

We have a nice house in a good location. Does anyone have any experience of swapping abroad or even in UK. Looking on some websites but the homes don't look real they're so posh.

We've been doing home exchanges for a couple of years and are registered on Home Exchange.

We've never done a reciprocal exchange but have used guest points earned byt letting people stay here to 'pay' to stay at other homes.

We've stayed in a variety of places from a tiny cottage in Scotland to a suburban new build in France. We had to cancel a couple of US stays last year but are booked to stay in two more places there later this year (travel regulations permitting).

It's saved us so much money in accommodarion!

I would love to try this. Does it work if you leave hamsters and fish to be fed though?

Guardian Home Exchange. A friend has used it a few times with great success.

I know a few people locally who've done this with no problems.

It's not for me, I wouldn't like strangers staying in my home.

@OnlyBejoking Yes, you can specify if there are pets to be fed or plants to be watered.
