I have the week booked off and was planning to take the children abroad, but now it looks like a staycation. Please could I have some inspiration?

Whereabouts are you and what ages are the children?

Spaceman1 · 03/05/2021 14:19

I'm in London and children are 9 and 13

Before we got our camping gear, we stayed at a few sites with pre-erected tents and hireable gear so we could check we liked it.
Palace Farm in Kent www.palacefarm.com/tipis-bell-tents-kent/ has spacious canvas bell tents and you can hire a cook box with small gas cooker and gas, saucepans, plates, cutlery, cooking utensils a kettle etc... The site is 4.5 miles from the nearest station so you could get there by train.
Paultons has similar www.paultonscampsite.com/pre-erected-tents and is directly opposite the theme park.
If you want a coastal site, then I’d recommend Lepe Beach www.eazycamp.co.uk/campsites/lepe-beach/pre-erected-tents.html

New Forest is beautiful and lots of family friendly attractions. Not too far from London either.
