Holiday Villas in Europe with pools - safety

Have only ever hired villas in France and their pools are always fenced and/or alarmed. Looking to go somewhere different, perhaps Italy but looking at pictures on Internet all look unenclosed. As have two aged 3 & 6, don't want to spend my relaxing break watching them every second. Any suggestions please?

sdr, hi. i am also concerned about this. there was a tragedy involving a local family in the news which brought this issue sadly v close to home.

not a very cheerful subject, but statistically, young children are most at risk/ likely to drown on the first or last day of a holiday. sorry to be morbdi, but thought it was worth telling you, given the subject of the op.

the website ciao bambino (i think) make property recommendations re safety etc. will check that i'e got that correct in a min.

We went to Corsica, OK its French but with an Italian slant, stayed in a Villa on a small complex of about 8 villas and had a lovely fenced pool and seperate childrens play area, and corsica is beautiful.
