We normally go to Menorca, and its been wonderful, but might try something different this year and need to get booked.

We can only go in August and need to be back by 3rd September at the latest.
Two adults and two children
Shorthaul so not massively hot (i.e. not cyprus/canaries)
Apartments
Nice resort with good restaurants.

Any suggestions of where youve been would be great

we are getting a private house with pool in France this year, as db3 will only be 10 weeks at the time.

There are some french resorts that do appts and have restaurants, etc.

I dont know why it did initially. Its the Viva Menorca Apts in Cala N Bosch.

We absolutely love it and have been now for 2 years. On one hand I think we should try something new, on the other hand I think why spend 2k on something which might be crap when you could spend 2k and know youre gonna get something good for it!

We are always self catering. They look lovely but no-one else for the kids to play with and at 3 and 12 they dont really occupy each other which is why we prefer a block of apts

Stayed at some nice apartments in Cala D'Or in Majorca 6 years ago. They backed onto the marina, which had lots of nice bars and restaurants on it.

We've had 3 trips to Alghero in Sardinia. It's a lovely place, an old town and massive beaches. Ryanair fly there from Stansted (and probably other airports). The airport is about a 10/15 min taxi ride from the town, which cuts down the hassle enormously. We stayed at the Residence Picale, which has nice clean spacious appts and is next door to a restuarant which serves pizza by the metre .

Have you looked at Totally Sorted Sports? They have a great range of family activity holidays in Spain with a good choice of accommodation from self catering to posh hotels. They also seem to understand & cater for teenagers as well!!

We have been to ole cecilia apartment/hotel in cala marcal, which is the beach resort of porto colom in Majorca.

Its a lovely place for families. the beach resort is small: lovely beach - warm med, non tidal. only about 2 or 3 small roads and half a dozen restaurants. lots of entertainment for children and adults. You can walk into the harbour town of porto colom in ten minutes (20 if slow children!, but there are more restaurants and shops lining the route into town. (which is small but has a nice square. We had a lovely chinese meal there last summer, and eat outside in the square where there was music and dancing). We are a family of 7 so getting a holiday and accom for us all is not easy and we were very pleased with the 3 bed accomm we had; a lovely big communal garden shared with 6 other apartments. All 3 bed ensuite.
