Holidays
Is anyone else going on holiday in May?
dreamingoneday · 16/04/2021 07:08
We have a holiday booked in May (UK) it's been booked since last summer.
I didn't book the holiday it was booked by another family member. The hotel are adamant it is all ok to go ahead and they will be open, however my concern is that there are four households and 10 people booked for the holiday so realistically how is this going to work and are we actually allowed to?
Is anyone else booked for the UK May half term?

I believe that if you are all staying in separate hotel rooms then yes from the hotel point of view you are allowed to go. But you won't be able to all meet inside at the restaurant/bar and you won't be able to all go out in the day together, as rule of 6 will still apply. So it won't be much of a holiday together.

Yes. Self catering in Scotland, just my immediate family. We will be seeing family while there, but within the guidelines, whatever they are then.
Didn't want to risk booking something that may not be able to go ahead.

@plixy
That's my worry

That's the thing - the guidelines - and I don't want to break them or put anyone at risk. We are going to the far north of England.

Yes. Full week away in our touring caravan on our favourite site in Cheshire. Kids love it. DS will no doubt bugger off to the field to play ⚽️⚽️ with other children and return for food n water only On site pub will be doing good plus a falconry centre and quaint shops. Cannot wait!

Ahh this sounds lovely

30 people should be allowed to meet outdoors from 17th May, so you'll be fine having picnics or days out OP, it's just indoor dining that is limited to six.

Thank you. I think the plan was to all have dinner together in the evenings so I'm guessing that won't happen or we will need to all sit on separate tables
tenlittlecygnets · 16/04/2021 18:06
What you could do is mix up families each night so you all get to sit with and chat to different people! You could make it fun.
