winter sun over xmas with 3yr old.Any ideas please?

good luck. I did a search last week and everywhere remotely nice was full. Tried Dubai, Maldives and most of the babygoes2 and mumsnet product recommendations....all that I found after a day on the internet was very ropey stuff in Turkey and the 3/4 star hotels in the Red Sea (which you definately want to avoid with kids as one of you is bound to come down with a bug)

But....plenty of availability in Jumeraih Beach hotel in late Jan, so I have plumped for that instead and will just take my hols later...

BTW I didn't research the Caribbean very much - so there may be stuff there

I'm off to Egypt in two weeks and four days (can you tell I'm excited) for a couple of weeks as recommended by a MNer.

Here - Beetroot recommended the hotel and I booked with First Choice.

look at barbados as well
tbh I'd see where you can fly to first, and then look for hotels. flights get really booked up.

South Africa. It's warm, it's fabulous, it's got everything from animals to snorkelling to shopping.

Thanks for all of your responses guys. Just waiting now to see if DS is going to come down with Chicken Pox as it is rife around these parts at the moment. So - don't want to book up somewhere and have to cancel and lose lots of money!!!! Fingers crossed though we can get away!! But i know we will very fortunate to find anything half decent and afordable
