FAMILY holiday in FRANCE...where?

Looking at camping life or French life cottages.

Lots of sites on the west coast and the cote d'azur. Will be ferry + car. Not sure I can face the drive to cote d'azure. Anyone recommend any specific areas in Brittany or Vendee?

I presume coast is going to give a better all round family holiday than Paris area (Disney)?

SpeedFerries to Boulogne
Easy access to A26, spend the difference on a nice hotel off the motorway and make the easy if long drive part of the adventure
I think our ferry last year cost £75

Surely Boulogne is not better. £90 to advance 30km round the coast....

Well we like them because they sail out of the other side of Dover, they don't take trucks, they are voted ferry operator of the year by the travel press most years and Boulogne is a nicer place to cool your heels in if you arrive early for the return trip

Oh and because it's a fast ferry the crossing time to Boulogne is around an hour

hmmmph this is depressing me.....long drive or lots of money....tempted to stick to Weymouth....

Have you considered going by Eurotunnel? We did last year and were really impressed. We used Tesco vouchers towards the cost so it worked out fairly cheap as we booked early....

There is a lot less hanging about beforehand and waiting to unload afterwards, imo.

Long drive to anywhere on the west coast from Calais though. We stopped off overnight in both directions...
