Morocco, Marrakech - talk to me about gorgeous, romantic riads

DH and I have three nights away alone at the beginning of Jan. Its a very belated honeymoon. We want to go to Marrakech as we want somewhere exotic where we would never take DD.

There are so many lovely looking riads. How do you choose? Money is no object for this one. We want to be in the Medina as we only have 3 nights (2 days). We want ultra luxurious and romantic.

Has anyone stayed anywhere they would recommend.

Thanks Mrs Badger, hopefully Hoxton will see this. Her links show hotels though. I think I def want a riad. Somewhere small and romantic with a real Moroccan feel.

most riads are hotels (if small boutiquey ones) as here
did you want selfcatering then?

No not self catering, just something small and intimate. All I meant to say about Hoxton's links is that they look a bit big and inpersonal.

My hope is that someone out there knows some amazing little gem of a riad that is small, exclusive, luxurious and above all uber romantic. The Guardian site has some amazing looking ones and I just hoped to add some personal experience before I make my choice. It is our honeymoon and probably our only 3 child free nights for years .

We stayed in a hotel when we went - but try this website for riads If you want to be in the thick of it try somwhere within the walls of the old city near to the Djemaa el-Fna
