We are going to go for DS birthday, just wondering which is preferable to stay in? Any experiences? Is it the same swimming pool? Eyes watering at the prices but seeing as no birthday parties this year (well unlikely) going to splash out

I would be interested too, I think the resort hotel is the one with the pool.

I stayed in the Castle in 2016 and the Resort in 2017. They are pretty much the same but the Resort had slightly less lego wallpaper and no xbox which is hardly worth the extra money considering that all the cool stuff like the playstation rooms , entertainment area , bricks restaurant, pool and bar were all at the Resort.
You get less gifts in the safe when you open it too at the Resort but considering all the cr*p you buy when you are there it makes zero difference as the fun is in cracking the puzzle and opening it.
More staff seemed to be in the Resort too which helps.

Thanks, do they both have swimming pools?

No it’s just the swimming pool in the resort.
