Where in Florida with a 26 month old (and 9 month old) or somewhere else in the US?

We are tagging a weeks holiday onto DH's business trip next month and are wondering where to spend it.

We are going to be in Atlanta for a fortnight so the obvious option is to go on to Florida and go to a theme park. But... would DS (26 months then) enjoy it? If so, which theme park? Or would we be better off going to Miami or Cuba and having a holiday for us?

He doesn't know anything about Disney so would it be lost on him?

All advice/suggestions appreciated.

I just asked on another thread how long you would be here for!

I think your son would love Disneyworld - Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios. There's lots of stuff for little kids. My youngest is 31 months now and absolutley loves it, and has done for a year now.

On the other hand, it's not necessarily a relaxing holiday. If you would prefer a beach holiday there are many options. The Gulf coast of Florida, the Atlantic coast of Florida (maybe Miami Beach). Or you could go somewhere in the Caribbean - the Bahamas or Jamaica.

Thanks Kate - looking more like 4 weeks in total now. 3 weeks for DH's work then holiday...

We went to Florida this summer - for a fortnight of purely theme parks - with family and with DD, who was 27 months at the time. She aodred it and couldn't get enough of the rides, shows, characters, everything. It was a magical trip.

There is more for this age group at Disney, than Universal. Magic Kingdon is the obvious choice if just going for one day.

DD knew nothing of Disney when we took her to DLP for 2 days last October, aged 18 months. Within the first hour she was transfixed and enchanted.

DD talks about her Disney holiday all the time ND LOVES LOOKING AT ALL HER PHOTOS

Thanks Hulababy. I think it was your description of your Paris trip last year that got me thinking

It's not a definite that we'll be going yet (work, work...) so it's difficult to spend time thinking and planning when it might all be in vain. Then again, it'll be a mad rush if we do go in two weeks!

Hi Triplets - glad you had a good time. I read your account on the other thread.

We are definitely going to Atlanta now and off to Savannah and other cities in Georgia. I think we are going to see how the children are and how well we get on with our shorter trips first and decide when we are there about where to go next.

Still tempted by the Caribbean. Oh for some warmth and sun!
