Alton Towers SCAREFEST

Has anyone been to the Halloween celebrations this year? We normally go for the fireworks but since they're not on this year wondered if it was still worth the journey(we live in Durham so it's quite a hike)

The kids are 4 and 8, are there any things too scary for them and anything not to miss?

Any tips much appreciated,DD has been poorly in hospital all week so their week off school was ruined, really want to have a special weekend to make it up to them.

Haven't set mind completely to Alton Towers so any other ideas are welcomed TIA x

Hi Ash - my ds1 is goin to the 'fright night' tonight - as a school trip!!!! Honestly, they've sold it as an 'extension learning' trip, £25 thank yu very much, incl coach. Anyway he's going tonight (he's just turned 15) and not due back until 10.30. On a school night!
I can let you know tomorrow, what he reckons.(if I can get him upin the morning)

That would be great,thank-you.Hope he enjoys himself-educational or not!!

I'm actually having trouble getting a hotel booked, have left it too late so am starting to look at other venues as a back up or if worst comes to worst it'll end up just being a day trip.

hi Ash - well, he enjoyed himself, i think! They didn't get back until 11 last night.

I asked him what he did ...'i went on the rollercoasters mum'(Duh).
Was it crowded? Shrug.
Many small kids there? 'Some'.
Scary? 'Not really, but there was this spooky green light everywhere...'
So make of that what you can - I don't suppose it'll be tooo spooky for the lo's but it's all a bit subjective anyway.

Hope you have fun!

Thanks Captainmummy(I think!! [hgrin])

We have stuggled like mad to get a room booked for the night, managed to book a Travel lodge about 20miles away, was the best we could get.

Has anybody else been?

So when you going?

ash6605 · 01/11/2007 20:27

We are going on Saturday, about lunchtime. We've bought the 2day ticket(2nd day for a fiver)so that we can stay until 9pm on the saturday and leave a bit earlier on the Sunday(otherwise i've got no chance of waking my 2 up for school on the monday)

Surely someone on MN has been this week??!!

I've not been for the Scarefest but have for the Fireworks - so no help at all lol. No fireworks this year due to a complaint from the neighbours!

Have a fab time!

So Ash did you have a good time? Were you scared witless?
