Walt disney world in Florida - I was always under the impression that if you stayed in the disney resort access to the parks was inclucdd...?

That's certainly what other friends that have been there have led me to believe, and having stayed in disneyland parris that was certainly the case.

But now having decided we want to go to Florida next year and having set our hearts on staying in the resort because it's better with young kids IMO, I find out that not only does one have to pay exorbitant prices to stay in a disney hotel, but that we'll have to buy tickets for the parks as well which will cost about £600 for the three of us.

Has this always been the case?

No in previous years disney hotels did include your passes - this has not been the case though for a good couple of years as far as I know.

Eurodisney however are still doing the free access for disney hotel guests.
