Driving to Marseille

Hello,

I'd love some route advice from experienced France drivers. I need to drive, with DC 4 & 7, to Marseille from London at the end of March to take a ferry.

Does this sound feasible?

Early Eurotunnel from Dover then drive as far as Dijon (how long does this take?).
Overnight in Dijon.
Drive to Marseille the next morning.
Overnight in Marseille and then ferry early in the morning.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll being doing all the driving- DP can't drive and the plan was for him to learn before we go but Covid has put a stop to that. Does that sound feasible? We're in SE London so only about 90 minutes to Dover. My other worry is that DD1 gets really car sick, but am guessing we will just have to dose her up.

Any tips and recommendations on good places to stop, including hotels on the outskirts of Dijon or Marseille welcome!

It's not a holiday, so we don't need to come back. I have driven in France before but not a big long drive like this (we will be in a LH drive car though which makes it easier).

ViaMichelin can show you the routes/timing/toll costs.

I don't want to be a covid misery, but March isn't very far away. The French borders are currently closed and if this remains the case you will need to show negative covid tests (private, not NHS) and be able to prove why your journey through France is necessary.

Bars and restaurants are still closed with no firm date for re-opening and there is also a night time curfew.

Sure, I'm aware of that- it's an essential journey and we will have the relevant documentation to back that up, without going into too many details. The testing etc isn't a problem. I'm keeping it flexible until the last possible minute though- we could potentially fly and have the car shipped although that's a pain for other reasons.

I'll check out via Michelin, thanks that's a good shout.

2hr flight from Gatwicw. £50 with easyjet. Hire a car from Marseille airport.

We're not staying in Marseille, we're continuing on on the ferry, and not coming back (well at some point we are...)

It sounds a bit of a nightmare with two young children one of whom is car sick. Could your DP take them on the plane and you take the car and meet them at Marseille airport?
