Can I pay a solicitor or someone to countersign my irish passport?

Yes, I work in a Solicitors and we certify documents a lot. We ask for a donation to our chosen charity though. I know some solicitors may charge.

Your Gp would sign it or if you have kids their headmaster. I got my gp to sign mine when I had an appointment with her. If I had left it in at reception they would have charged ridiculous amount as so money grabbing lol

Your GP cannot sign for it. Doctor's are not allowed to sign passport applications unless they are doing it in the capacity as a friend, and they certainly cannot charge for it.

Sorry. Just seen you said Irish. Those rules are different; a Doctor can do it.
