Christmas 2021 Austria?

Really need something to look forward to for next Christmas as I'm sure we all do!
Thinking of somewhere snowy, beautiful, real Christmassy feeling. Christmas markets, things to do, shops, beautiful scenery. Also tobogganing etc, huskies a bonus. We're not looking to go to Lapland as we've already been. Two dc age 6 and 8.
We're not really into skiing. Never tried it, would be open to having a go but just as a one off, not the main event.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
Hopefully we'll be able to go away by that time!

I am keen to hear comments, for when all this is over! We went to Norway a while ago, and that was great. Probably a bit more emphasis on outdoor activities as opposed to markets etc, but we really enjoyed the tabogganing and general snow!

I went to Vienna Christmas 2019 for the markets, which were lovely. Kids would like the main one, with ice skating etc.

It wasn't snowy though. In fact it was milder than UK.
I guess if you want snow, then you'd have to look more to the West of Austria.

I went to Vienna in Christmas 2018, and there was quite a lot of snow  so I guess I was lucky. The markets were fantastic.

Snow in Austria is a hit and miss. It is more often green/grey than snowing. I have friends in Switzerland and they often get a green Christmas nowadays.

Saying that Bavaria or Austria will give you a lovely Christmas feeling but all you need to go before Christmas Eve as all markets close on the 23rd and shops/restaurants close on the 24th.

For guaranteed snow you need to go to Scandinavia or Canada/Northern US.

We also went to Vienna in December 2019 and it was lovely, really enjoyed the trip but the weather was mild indeed. We went for a day to Salzburg and it was 15 degrees. Really enjoyed the whole trip though.
