Yeah! Nearly half term, and holiday time

Me, DH and 5yo DD are off on holiday with Katz, her DH, and their 5yo and 2yo DDs. There is much excitement about it all, especially from the 5yo best friends, as you can imagine

So, we are travelling down in the car - have hired a Volvo XC90 for the 7 of us, getting the tunnel over to France and then driving to a 4 bed cottge we have hired. It's about 30 minutes from DLP and 30 minutes drive from Paris. Has pool, etc so should be a nice base.

We have 4 days worth of tickets for DLP (buy3, get 1 free) - so those days are sorted.

Would also like to visit Epernay and do some champagne tasting. Can't remember the name of the cavve, but want to go to the one where you go round on the little train as think it'd be better for the girls.

And we are also thinking of getting the train into Paris for the day. And that is where I am seeking your advice and suggestions mainly.

What do you recommend us doing for the day, bearing in mind we will have two 5 year olds and a 2.4 year old? Where to go, what to see, where to eat?

TIA

In paris I would recommend the classic sites tbh. These will link with images they ahve seen. Therefore Effil tower is a must, Notre Dame is good (read the Hunchback of ND!) a boat trip on the seine is good, you can pick up a bateau mouche at the Pont Nuef I seem to remember. Food wise I wouldn't try to find a particular place as it will be really stressful, all cafes do croque monsuier (cheese and ham toastie) or bagettue sandwiches. Or find a creperie (my kids LOVE the HUGE pancakes at these)

Jardins du Luxembourg is good for children - I think there is a puppet theatre and a carousel, also model boat hire that sort of thing.
