Baby carseats in Australia - help please

After some advice:
We're off to see our friends who emigrated to Australia for all of December. They've been able to find a carseat to borrow for my 3 year old. But haven't found one for her sister, she'll be just 6 months when we arrive. She's quite skinny (although tall) so I think she'll only weigh about 7kg when we arrive.

I know the rules are different in Australia so there's no point in bringing her UK seat. Is it easy to hire seats? We'll be using a mixture of our friend's cars and a hire car for a trip to Jervis Bay. And can anyone recommend a company (they live in Wollongong, NSW)?

Thanks in advance.

Don't know about NSW but we found a few hire places in WA (where we are right now!) that hired seats. It would have been about $45 for a month for a baby capsule (the equivalent of an infant seat in the UK).

The other option is to buy one here - you can get decent ones relatively cheaply if you want a brand new seat. I saw them in baby shops for about $70.
