Family friendly hotels in Toronto and Niagara Falls, can you recommend one?

Looking to go to Toronto and Niagara Falls next October for a fortnight.

Can anyone recommend a hotel that would be good for a family of four?
looking for central, not really expensive but not really cheap either, child friendly in Toronto.

For Niagara Falls we'd love a hotel that overlooks the falls, again child friendly, not really expensive and not really cheap.

I've looked in brochures and looked at websites and checked trip advisor but wondered if anyone here had a recommendation?

Also another question I have is what type of room would we need, would it be a twin room for 2 adults and 2 children? would that be likely to have two double beds?

Thanks for your help

My visit to Canada was before baby but we stayed in a hotel mentioned by a friend in Toronto - the Victoria Hotel. It was early October 2004.

You can get rooms with two double beds, or what they describe as two queen beds, current rate for this month is $149, that's about £75 at current exchange rate. The hotel is very near the station. I can't comment on child friendliness but see no reason why not. The rate also included a free breakfast - not standard in North America as it is here.

My memory of Niagara Falls is that it was great fun to visit, slightly tacky, and that accommodation rates were very reasonable. We stayed in the Comfort Inn and I had no complaints.

I find tripadvisor quite useful for getting some sense of whether a hotel might work for me - I don't worry too much about negative reviews if I think someone's expectations and requirements were totally different from mine, but it can help avoid real disasters.

I just loved my visit to Toronto and Niagara Falls.

Me and my partner visited Niagara Falls last July. It was a great fun to visit around Niagara Falls City and Water Falls and that we got very neat and reasonable accommodation at E-Lodge Niagara Motel it was 15 - minutes walks to the Water Falls

E-Lodge Motel is the best family owned Motel with cheap accommodation solution near Niagara Falls. they are close to all the attractions and far from the city noise.
