Anyone know Vauxhall, London at all?

HI
I will be travelling with two children to London on Friday (with my mum too).

I am thinking of parking at Richmond (because I have done this before - £6 all day, LOL), and then getting train to Vauxhall. The place I have got to get to is St Stephens terrace which I am told is a 10 minute walk from the station.

What I need to know is...is it safe to be walking around there?

Any other tips also greatly appreciated as I don't know London at all and am a little nervous!

You can park along this road for free:

Mill Hill Road

See the "triangle" Mill hill Road, Rocks Lane and Station Road? People park along there all the time and walk to the station to avoid the london congestion charging. It is not controlled, and it costs nothing.

walk to Barnes Station and take the train in to Vauxhall

wow thanks.
Do you know how far (walking) that is from the station?

I have never walked this distance, but there are paths across the green area which take you to the station as a short cut (from Mill Hill Road), or you can walk around, Station Road is probably quicker as it takes you straight on to the station. No more than 10 minutes. Note, you cannot park on Rocks Lane!

Hi all

Thanks for all your advice, we had a fab time.

We parked at Richmond, £8 for 24 hours, and then got the train to Vauxhall.

We couldn't find a taxi so we decided to walk to the address which we found fine although we did ask about 8 people en route to make sure we were going the right way!

Oh, and Londoners are SO friendly, and helpful.

Thanks to everyone who helped!
