We're emigrating to New Zealand in 2008 and really want to make the most of the fact that we'll be between jobs and do some travelling en route, probably through the States although it will be early in the years so we will be limited on where we can go due to weather.

So... has anyone done an extended trip with two little ones, or does it get a few weeks in and become a nightmare for all. We'd spend every 3rd or 4th night in a hotel.

Any tips/thoughts are welcome, we're still at the planning stage.

Thanks.

There are a few here who have done just that. One of them is a poster called dejags. It might be worth paying your £5 (if you haven't already) and getting mumsnet to contact her - do a search for her name.

I think Rhubarb spend a while living in a caravan with a toddler and a baby in France.
