Strattons hotel.

If so , should we stear clear of it ??? Dh and I had to cancel our anniversary trip this weekend due to a tragic bereavment and we desparately need to get away together withought the dd's.

I love the feel of the linen room or the Opium the best. So need to find somewere like that in UK no more than 2 hrs away.

Sorry to hear about your bereavement. Whereabouts are you, so we can maybe recommend somewhere for you to go?

I am 99% sure that it is that hotel.

melsy · 22/10/2007 12:03

Yes it is soapgate
I wouldn't go there after that tbh
What are your criteria?
Sorry about your bereavement.
If you want Norfolk, what about The Victoria at Holkham

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2007 12:11

Soapgate was DEF Strattons

chonky · 22/10/2007 12:12

WWW - that's very spooky, I was just about to post the link to The Victoria!

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 22/10/2007 12:12

Thats the one......

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2007 12:14

What do you want? Beach? Country?

The Grove looks fab for a country hotel and they never discount but I've heard they're worth it

Malmaison in Oxford looks nice or The Crazy Bear in Oxford

RTKangaMummy · 22/10/2007 12:14

melsy · 22/10/2007 12:20

oohhhhh what was that place before malmaison in Oxford www ??????? Im getting all creeped out big big time spirit wise looking at those pictures.

OP posts:
Lilymaid · 22/10/2007 12:22

As an alternative to the Victoria, there is also the Hoste Arms at Burnham Market. Holkham/Burnham areas are much nicer than Swaffham - unless you like the Brecks and a good selection of wind farm turbines.

melsy · 22/10/2007 12:23

ohh the suites at the crazy bear look really great, I like the garden rooms too. Very rock chic there !!!!

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 22/10/2007 12:28

WideWebWitch · 22/10/2007 12:30

Melsy, what do you mean? It was a prison

Just re read through Soapgate, 800 posts and a lot of bad publicity and people not going there, strattons are mad.

melsy · 22/10/2007 12:31

ahhhh that explains everything , wouldnt be able to stay there !!!!!!! Id not sleep for all the spirits coming at me!! I feel totally ick in a BIG way justn looking at the pictures !

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 22/10/2007 12:34

Melsy, what, you get vibes through a picture on a computer? Seriously?

RTKangaMummy · 22/10/2007 12:34

We went to the Beechwood in North Walsham for our first anniversary... have never had food anywhere that was as good as here.

Another vote for the Victoria at Holkham.
