Needing a break of some kind and wondering whether Venice would be nice in November. Would it be nice for a short trip with dd (7)?

Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay?

Sicilly sounds great.

You could also try Avignon/Arles/Carcassonne.
I think Ryannair flies from various UK cities. You'd still be in town though but it is small and provincial and gorgeous
If you rent a car for a couple of days, the countryside is beautifull and lots of old fortified citadels/villages to see and lots of gourmet stops on the way.....

ooh gourmet food ... but slim I've just LOST WEIGHT!!!!! Yes, sur le pont..... Never been there, sounds good actually, never thought of going to France. Mind you we'd be flying from Berlin though not from the UK.

Hmm Sicily sounds good too... Sounds very good. Wouldn't mind doing both in fact

I'm a Sicily fanatic, I'd go to Syracuse tomorrow, it's one of the few places in sicily I've never been.

Don't want to spoil it for you, but food likely to be VERY difficult resist there too.
