Am planning to meet my best friend from school somewhere in the South or mid-Lake District area (it's roughly half way for both of us). We're looking for somewhere that would be suitable for three children of 12, 8 & 5 and practical enough to negotiate with a 3mo baby. Any suggestions will be gratefully received, especially seasonal things, whether Halloween, Bonfire Night or Christmassy. Thank you!

if you want a nice cafe, try Low Sizergh barn (south of Kendal). Fantastic food and at 3.45pm you can sit and watch the cows being milked through a huge window in teh cafe

the Lakeland wildlife Park (called something like that) was a very good day out for us. Right in the souht of the lakes.
