Is it worth going with young children? Is the zoo a good part of the day? Any advice for me?
Thanks

I would n't focus on thee zoo , it isn't that large or that exciting. We walked through much of it on our way back to the car park although they do some animal shows which might appeal but be chilly to siot through now. Your younger one may find it a bit frustrating and the older may need accompanying on some rides and be too small for others. We took dd(6) and ds(9) in July and had a good day out but would n't say there is a lot for preschoolers in comparison to Legoland for example.

We went several times last year on zoo only days, but we only have a 2.5 year old...although I do also have a 12 year old step daughter...they both loved it.

It is great for zoo only as there is no frustration as all the rides are closed and you don't even notice them sitting there. We've been in Christmas when exceptionally cold and it was lovely then too.

Having said this, I've not been to Legoland to be able to compare.

try legoland - far more age appropriate

Chessington is a fab place to go for this age, I frequently go with my 3.5 year old and my older nieces and nephew and have not been disappointed yet. Its nice to have the mix of both the rides and the animals.

I took my DS at 22 months and he really enjoyed it. There are quite a few very tame rides for small children, and a big soft play area. He was already 90cm tall at that age, which meant he could go on a couple of the bigger rides with me - check their website for height restrictions. He enjoyed the animals too (more so than at London Zoo in fact).

The park is currently closed for the winter and reopening mid March.
