Halloween activities for 8 year old girl

Can anyone help me find something to do on Halloween. My niece is coming over from the states, and has asked what we will do for Halloween. But, I don't think it is celebrated over here quite as much as it is in the states. She doesn't know a sole in this country, so there won't be any getting together with friends. I was hoping to find some kind of Halloween party that is open to the public. Anywhere from Middlesex to Surrey to London would be fine. Any ideas?

Uwila - what a shame - we are having a Halloween party for DD on Halloween night for her 8th Birthday. Fancy a drive to Bristol (only an hour or so down the M4) More than welcome if you want

If it's not too late now, today's Evening Standard has a big ad for a Halloween Party on 31 at WEmbley Conference Centre in aid of a kids' cancer charity. Ticket hotline is 020 8782 1171. It's expensive - £30per person - but for charity and sounds really good.
Hope you get sorted/are already sorted!
