Flight during local lockdown

Hi there I am due to go on holiday on Sunday but live in the Caerphilly area and we won't know until Friday if our local lockdown will be lifted. I was just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation and if they are eligible for a refund? Or alternatively what are the consequences if you do go whilst in local lockdown? Fine, refused entry etc? Thanks

Is it a full on lockdown? Because I'm in Manchester, which is supposed to be in some half assed lockdown, and I went on a flight just fine.

@JKRowlingIsMyQueen yes we aren't allowed to leave the county :( did they ask for your address??

It looks as if it is a hard no from Caerphilly County Borough Council.
"I’ve booked a holiday abroad in the coming weeks – can I still go?
No. "

It strongly implies you should be eligible for a refund because the Welsh Government has restricted non-essential travel, but that may depend on the who you've booked with, or your insurance.

I believe those in welsh lockdowns aren't allowed to leave the area (I guess for essential reasons) so not sure yo'd be allowed if asked.

Welsh government have written to the travel industry and insurers to refund people. Some companies have taken the position that they won't refund as they don't understand that it's law in Wales that you can't travel outside the borough without reasonable excuse.

Penalties - if you get stopped by the police on the way out of Caerphilly they'll send you home. They could also fine you but it's quite small, about £60.

All evidence so far shows that the local restrictions are working so hopefully by Sunday you'll be able to go.

Only when I was entering the country on my way back, I had to fill out a "health form" and put down my address
