Nothing fancy, they like simple B&B's, but a bit special since this is what they wanted for their anniversary. Something very central but quiet. Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

DH and i stayed in a lovely friendly B&B just outside the walls a few weeks ago - really near Yorkminster.

Also really near shops, museums etc.

It is called The Hazelwood and is easy to Google. Thehazelwoodyork or similar.

Lovely B&B

the travelodge in york is pretty central and in a nice setting, near Clifford's tower?

Going to bump this a bit as I'm looking to take the family to York for a couple of days and was looking for suitable accommodation! Travelodges, Best Western'y stuff or child friendly B&Bs, so we don't want to pay for olde worlde charm and chintz!

The Hazelwood is a bit chintzy and not suitable for under eights i think it says on the website.

How old are your little ones? we went to the Dungeon while we were there and thought it was better than the Yorvik but it's definitely suitable for tens / teens only!

If you are going to the Yorvik i would recommend booking through the website first as you get to skip the queue - which is usually very long!
