Apols first for the incorrect spelling in the title but I haven't got one of those little 'n's with a wiggly roof on top on my keyboard.

Dh and I are off to Barcelona without the kids for the weekend on Friday morning (returning on Sun pm). We are staying in the 'Fiesta Hotel Caspe', which looks lovely. We know we want to go to the Gaudi museum etc, but do any of you wise women know great places to eat with loads to do at night ? Cost not really an issue.

TIA
NDP

oh yes my sister when to the Gothic quarter and said its great for tapas and freixenet cava 9 pronounced cavvah)
they staggered from one bar to another

she also recommended th e open top bus tours which, much to her horror, was great!

ooo, I know a really nice restaurant.
It's called the 4gats - lovely, very central.
see here 4gats
they have a bar with tapas menu and proper restaurant. really recommend it.
Lucky you I love barcelona

Oh, you have to go the Fonta Magica (spl? - magic fountains) - they are fab. There are some great seafood resaturants down by the port - sorry, can't remember any names but we ate at 2 different ones and they were both good - suggest go and look at the menus during the day and then book for the evening. Oh, and if you get time, Parc Guell is fantastic (Gaudi park). Oh I just love Barcelona, it's my favourite city. Have fun

lucky you - love Barcelona!

Definitely recommend the open top bus tour - you get to see all the sights and just hop on and off wherever you fancy. There are 2 companies doing the trips - the starting point is at the bottom of Las Ramblas, but bus stops all over the place

Placa de Catalunya off Las Ramblas is a lovely square to sit and sip and watch the world go by (lots of buskers - but they are all good!).

Sagrada Familia is a must - absolutely amazing building, the indoor market off Las Ramblas (called something like Boqueteria?, very interesting and colourful), Port Vell for the seafood and a great tapas bar on a boat (forgot the name sorry!). The full size 'model' village built for an exhibition showcasing all of Spains different architecture - can't remember name, but its up on a hill somewhere, should be in a guide book, you just wander round all these little cobbled streets and alleyways - some of the buildings have restaurants and craft type shops in them and there is a glass blowing place too.

Have a great trip!

Spacemonkey has just come back from there NdeP. Dh was there in August and said everywhere had great food, although I believe SM has one place to warn against.

Have a nice time, am jealous.

Please go to C'an Pep just down from the Picasso Museum (which is also fab) towards the sea. It's a wonderful tapas bar. Only open 1.30-4pm and in the evening. YOu need to be queueing outside at 1pm but that's Ok cos one of you can q and the other can browse the shops (mmm wonder which way round that'll be....) Food is amazing, really friendly service - tell them what you like and they keep bringing stuff till you say stop. Desserts also great all washed down with cava then back for a siesta...........ENJOY!

If weather's warm enough I'd head for beach. We were there 1st Oct and it was just lovely. Had 2 afternoons on beach and two massages for £10 each - bliss

Oh and Zara's even cheaper than here!
