Looking at booking my honeymoon here, does anyone have any experience?

Thanks!

Dh & I went there back in 1995. It was not so developed then and you could easily find a beach to yourself. We had a speedboat transfer from Male which was fine (I had been dreading it as I thought I might get sea-sick, but felt 100%). The room we had didn't have A/C which took a little getting used to, but you do acclimatize. One of the best things about it was not having to wear shoes at all nor carry money around (you signed for food/drinks). We went on a half-board basis.
The island was beautiful and every evening the sting-rays would come right in on the beach. The snorkelling was fantastic (especially if you take a boat out to one of the reefs) and after breakfast we used to take bread & feed the fish by the jetty. All in all a wonderful experience.

Whilst waiting for the flight home at Male, we took a helicopter sight-seeing trip which was fantastic. It took you over the atolls and we got some amazing photographs.

The only downside I would say was that it was quite a long flight and we did feel really jet-lagged when we arrived. I think it was about 11 and half hours in total and there was a refuelling stop in Bahrain on the way.

We went to Meeru a few years ago and it is one of the busier resorts, but still lovely.

If you can stretch the budget a little I can highly recommend Lily Beach, although it is eight years since we went there.
