Ryanair refund?

We were due to fly to Italy in May, flights cancelled by Ryanair, so we opted for the refund offered. We are still waiting, but no refund as yet. We've been told it's in process but wondered if anyone can advise how long they have waited for their refund?

I’m waiting for a refund for cancelled May flights too. They originally promised a refund within a week. Have had several emails offering a voucher for future use, but keep replying that I want a refund. I need to get round to raising a complaint with PayPal, through which I made the payment.

On other threads there have been suggestions about going via Paypal or credit card companies to get your money back.

Please follow my example in future and don't fly with them again.

We had a holiday to Greece, audio booked for may and we've been refunded already. I wasnt expecting it so soon but can't through mid August.

I have only recently had fights refunded from the beginning of April. We just took the voucher because we will use it. Annoyingly we booked one piece of check in luggage as it was a ski holiday and would need it. This was not included in the refund.

Fucking cheeky bastards!

I was meant to be flying to Malta with Ryanair in May. Flights cancelled, I applied for refund. A few weeks later I got email from Ryanair offering voucher instead. I rejected that offer and repeated that I was applying for refund.

Have heard nothing from them for months.

This evening, I’ve got an email from Ryanair, saying “Don’t forgot you’ve got travel vouchers to use”. Vouchers for the exact amount they owe me!

Cheeky fuckers!

I’ve asked for my money back twice now.

The email very kindly gives me the option of asking for a refund for a third time!

Grrrrrrr!

I was on this merry roundabout too. The refund form on the website is broken.

I started an online chat on the Ryanair site to complain (via the Contact Us bit) and they actually processed my refund right away which did surprise me.

The company had taken the utter piss basically using our fares as credit for 6 months to keep themselves afloat.

Thanks for that advice about using the chat option. I’ll give that a go.

I do have sympathy for them as they must be haemorrhaging money, but they are just taking the piss out of customers. When I do manage to fly again I will not be flying with them.

We were due to fly end of April to Florence , got another email from
Ryanair last week to confirm we would still like a refund, clicked yes and entered confirmation numbers, refund appeared on credit card few days later so keep an eye on your inbox for this second email

As a pp has already advised, use the online chat function. I had heard reports that this was the way to guarantee the refund in 6-8 weeks and it has worked for me and everyone else I know that had gone down that route.

I've been waiting for a response on the online chat for two hours.
Is it broken?
How long has anyone else waited?
