Anyone been to Duinrell? Got a question about departure day.

I'm just trying to book flights for next year as we had to move our Duinrell trip from this month. The only way to get the same price for flights is to get a later flight home but I can't get through to Duinrell at the moment and wanted to find out if we can store luggage on departure day and also use the facilities after leaving our accommodation at 10.30am - anyone know about this? Otherwise we'll end up with a very boring day hanging out at Schipol Grin. Thanks!

You can ask for a late check-out, but you can’t book it in advance because it’s only permitted if they don’t need to use your accommodation immediately after your departure. You can only ask the day before your departure date. It’s unlikely that you’ll be allowed in peak times.
But yes, you can use the park after check out. However, at the moment you would probably be required to buy day passes www.duinrell.com/tickets because they’re limiting tickets to control the numbers in the park. All I can see on their website is this:
“Do you want to enter the amusement park after check-out? You can park your car for a fee of €10 in the parking lot at the entrance of the amusement park. You can buy a parking coin at our cash register.”
And there are lockers for luggage storage in the park.

If you paid through your credit card you can do a section75 and get your money back. I did this, was easy as they have breached terms and conditions of booking very very clearly . Think they changed them this spring so might depend when you booked if course .

tootyfruitypickle, I'd be interested to hear more about this ... we were due there 26th but they say only a transfer and we pay the extra as 'Holland is open' despite the quarantine issue. How do you do it?

MiniCooperLover · 04/10/2020 17:36

We booked very early February before Covid was being discussed.

It’s hard to be bored in Schipol airport btw,

@MiniCooperLover I found the original booking T&c (before they changed them), and they stated quite clearly if there was any material change to the original holiday a refund was available-no voucher mention! I sent this off to my credit card company, they refunded me and Duinrell didn’t challenge (as they are wrong). It took a while though and I don’t have the document anymore (I can have a look though, if you like, maybe I’ve stored it somewhere, but someone must have posted it online as lots of people are very cross!).

They’ve dealt with this whole situation in a very unpleasant way, I would never ever go back (I’ve been yearly for a while as well but appalled at their treatment of customers during this).

There’s no way you’d get it done by 26th actually, it took about 3 months.

Sorry just realised you mean your original booking is this month? In which case if they are agreeing that you don’t have to go and offering a voucher you can try and get a refund in the meantime via your credit card co. You have to formally ask for a refund, then send that and original booking t &cs to your credit card co pointing out where they are breached (it’s obvious). Mine were very surprised Duinrell didn’t cave in and refund before because it costs companies more if credit card cos take it back apparently - Thomas cook refunded everyone as the credit card claims were so many !

Answering this quite late - we went to Duinrell in February - it was pool only and the park was closed but we still had a great time. Even though the place was incredibly quiet, we weren't allowed a late check out. I think they only keep a certain amount of cabins operating in quiet times.
You can store your stuff under reception and can use the facilities there for the rest of the day. Looking back I wish I'd booked a flight around midday rather than 7pm.
