Efteling and Duinrell - which one first?

I've read good things about both of the above. Our children are 7&6. Which would suit current age first and which is better for older children?

Oh definitely Efteling, such a lovely theme park and very reasonably priced. I’ve not met anyone who didn’t love it and I wish I’d taken mine when they were younger for the fairytale aspect.

We are Duinrell fanatics here and started going when our children were younger than yours.
We have taken so many people with us and all loved it as the location it amazing with beach and the lovely wassenaar.
Children too old now and sad that last year was our final year.
Over the years we progressed to the premium dungalow
So many great memories
❤️❤️❤️

Thank you. What age range would you say each was for?

We took the children from younger than yours to about 16-17. Always something to do.
We never ever expected over the years to always go back to one place but they always said it beat the more expensive holidays hands down.
We didn't just go to duinrelll - we made sure that we spent time on the beach which is a cycle away, go into town, Amsterdam.
I have never been to the other place but Holland is fab ❤️

Just looked at Efteling - I think why we liked Duinrell is that you stay on site so just dip in and out of park. So even in the evenings when the main park is shut you can still go in the little activity areas like slides etc

We did a week at Duinrell and drove to Efteling for the day. Efteling is a proper them park where as Duinrell is an amusement park with camping. The pool at Duinrell is amazing. Do Duinrell first as it might be a disappointment after Efteling. We were supposed to be heading for a week at Duinrell in our tent and two nights at Efteling on Friday 😭.

Lots to do in the area around Duinrell like the beach and lovely towns and cities close by.

Efteling.

The ages of the dc are perfect. They will be blown away, the attention to detail is amazing, no fibre glass stuff there it's all properly built.
The best acxmd is Bosrijk... It's in real woods with a beautiful natural lake. There are loads of play areas and stuff for dc to do. Small pool... But cute and does the job.

Durinell is fun but more like a glorified pontins, butlins. As pp said perhaps do that first
So dc arnt disappointed after efteling.

Durinell is near beach and by lovely town.

However we have visited other places when at efteling.

The efteling has many layers to it, it's far prettier, bigger and more relaxing than Disney Paris for instance.
It's just so charming and special. Personally I think every child should visit it just once. It's unique. We had to cancel this year's trip.
Next year though we will be looking to combine it with berkse begen (sp) which is a safari park, with lodges over looking the animals, pools etc, play areas. Also lots of people rave about the '' hansel and gretal pancake '' House... It's over an hours drive but people say it's worth it!

Efteling 1st then next time perhaps combine efteling with elsewhere...

PS Amsterdam was very very easy drive from the efteling, lots of good underground parking.
And similarly, delft, utrecht etc also within reasonable distance. We didn't want to leave efteling however the first few times we went!!
