I will be in Toronto next weekend for a conference (26th - 29th) and have Saturday night free. Any Toronto Mumsnetters who have suggestions on places to go, restaurants, etc? Maybe some live music, not too crazy and loud, but not too mellow either...

There are some fab restaurants in TO, esp West Indian, Thai, Chinese etc. Try Metis (spelling?) on Queen West. This is a good area to just look around as very lively. Malls are easiest for shopping, the Eaton Centre is downtown. It is a very clean, well organised city, and cheap for us with exchange rates at present. There is a good website - toronto.ca or similar - which we used on last visit to find child friendly activities. Good luck and enjoy
