Any ideas for beach holidays in February??

DP can only take time off in Feb but we'd like to go somewhere warm so we can sit on the beach, DS can go in the sea, etc. DS will be 18 months old then so need somewhere baby friendly. Does anyone have any ideas? We've been to Tunisia in the past but weather was a bit hit and miss and not warm enough to just sit still outside.

caribbean is the obvious place
somewhere you can fly direct (tobago, grenada, barbados, antigua, st lucia)

TBH the only warm shorthaul destination at that time of year is the canaries.
We have been to Aparthotel Riu Adeje in Tenerife a few times with DS. It is v child friendly and no matter what board you chose you still get a kithen & a lounge which makes it much more toddler friendly. Its a 10 min walk to the beach & there are 2 heated pools. There is a central Riu website.

Canaries looks like the best bet I think - do you know how long the flight is? Would the weather still be warm enough to sunbathe in Feb?

IIRR its 4 hrs to Tenerife. The weather should be fine - like a decent English summer. We have certainlt swum in the sea at Christmas a few times. I think Tenerife generally has the more reliable weather - ie less windy than say Fuertaventura. I would avoid Golfo del Sur though as it is ofetn very windy and a bit colder there. Also it is warmer in Southern tenerife whereas the north is generally a couple of degree cooler.

Its 4 star I think. What we like is that its built a bit like a village so you walk down little 'calles' to each group of flats. No long indoor corridors. The restaurant is very good. We have always done self-catering because Ds's eating times aren't that flexible yet, but we booked for the breakfast wich is a massive buffet with loads of choice. I think Thomsons might do it as a package but we have always booked it ourselves online. Its about 15 mins taxi ride from the airport Sofia Reina.

oh and opposite there is a good Italian restaurant that does takeaways and its 2 mins walk to a good supermarket where you can get some lovely Spanish seafood!

We went to Marsa Alam, Egypt, AI in February with Thomson and had a wonderful time. Very relaxed, nothing too much trouble for the staff, good food and a fabulous coral lagoon right outside the hotel doors. The hotel was called Lamaya. It cost us in 2006 £1300 for 2 adults 1 child (9 yrs) All Inclusive for a fortnight, in 4+* luxury. No loud noises at night. We managed to spend £300 on souveniers and trips but that was all. Everything you could want was done for you or was provided. There is a lttle paharmacy just up the road for baby stuff like nappies and lotions and a doc tor on site in case of trouble. This is the review I put in Trip advisor.
