What to do/where to go in October?

So I have 2 weeks leave booked. Just moved Ibiza to April when its likelier to be safer to go.

But I now have 2 weeks free. Don't want to stay at home as have been here since March. I don't drive, but DH does. Just wondering where's nice here in early October. Probably wet everywhere?

Is Cornwall nice at this time of year ? It's before half term so likely to be quiet.

I just need to get out the house.

Anywhere in the UK can be wet at any time of year OP, but if you want to get away then take a gamble. We often holiday in the UK, both in the summer and at other times of year and as long as you take your waterproofs and wellies and accept that the weather may be a bit shit you can be pleasantly surprised! We've had a week of glorious sunshine in the Lake District in August, a wet (but very happy) long weekend in the Cotswolds in September, and weeks of mixed weather in Northumberland, Dorset, Norfolk, Wales, Sussex - but all of them were good. Just have contingency plans if the weather doesn't play ball and consider buying or hiring wet suits if you want to get in the sea.
