Would you go? We are due to go on Friday on Eurostar. I'm worried.

Hi from what I have seen I really don't know! H and I were planning on going to Brussels/Bruges/Amsterdam in August and really don't know what to do! The things that make me say go are that if the shit hits the fan you can change your return train and come back early and that FCO have not blocked paris (if this even means anything anymore)

so i suppose I wasn't very helpful sorry!Smile

We’re due to go on the 8th 🤞🏻 Eurostar too. Really hope you and we get there.

Just spent the weekend in Paris. We drove and parked/stayed in the Marais rather than Eurostar.
It is quite quiet tourist wise: some about but nowhere near usual levels. Everyone wearing masks whilst indoors.
Restaurant staff all wearing masks. Staff really happy to see tourists.
Lots of outdoor eating with some small streets closed off so that restaurants could put seats outside.
Had a fab time.

@CaurnieBred that's reassuring. I think we will still go unless the situation gets a lot worse by Friday.

I'm close to Paris. Life seems strangely normal, apart from the masks and hand gel everywhere. Lots of people away on holiday so it's quieter than usual. There is talk of a second wave but it's mainly the western part of the country affected by it.

I can't say to come here or not, but the R number is going up (currently 1.3) and I wouldn't be surprised if the UK government suddenly imposed a quarantine for when you get back, as they've done with Spain.

@AvonCallingBarksdale just thought I'd update! We went. It was great. Eurostar was really organised, boarding in stages to avoid crowding and leaving empty seats on the train. Masks were worn but almost everyone. Paris was quiet and felt really safe. Have a lovely time.

@bobisbored
So pleased you had a good time. We also had a really good trip - Eurostar was great and Paris, as you say, felt very safe and well organised. We fortunately got back before quarantine 😅
