DH found it on the web today and we're thinking of booking - any advice?

Hi, just had a look at this hotel on the web as I thought I knew it, sadly I don't but it looks lovely and it appears to cater for children very well (actually thinking about a trip there myself now!)
I'm originally from Somerset and we used to take regular trips down to Lyme Regis, it's a lovely part of the country and plenty to do, there's a great fossil beach at Lyme, you could spend hours breaking stones.

Sorry I'm not much help but perhaps it helps that someone else likes the look of the Hotel.
Hope you have a nice stay.

For self-catering, the best place is Lyme bay Holidays , they pretty well have the market wrapped up round there and are very helpful. Don't know about hotels, sorry.

It does look good doesn't it - just wondered if it is as good as it sounds / if anyone had stayed there.

Have had a look at lyme bay holidays - some nice ones - anyone stayed in any cottages they could reccommend? Ideally with a highchair, cot, stair gate etc.

Hi there, we haven't been but are booked for a week in July. I'm expecting it to be fairly low key and informal- more B&B standard than swanky hotel - which tbh is partly what attracted me. I did a lot of research and this was the most reasonable prices for the kind of accommodation we wanted - interconnecting bedrooms and separate children's teas, no real need for formal childcare provision.
Have to say I'm really looking forward to it!

coffeebean, we use Lyme Bay Holidays every year, and could certainly recommend some cottages, but in all honesty you'd be better off ringing them and telling them your requirements. I always avoid doing that in general, and tend to try and book online, but they really know their stuff- one year we couldn't get the cottage we wanted and she said "oh, this other one is just your style- sripped floorboards and comfy sofas", so quite specific! They also know whether balconies are suitable for toddlers and so on. We stay in a beautiful place, but I wouldn't recommend it for under 3s. The other thing you have to bear in mind is that their brochure comes out in October and lots of people book immediately, so if you contact them they can search just on houses that are still available. Good Luck!

thanks tamum - i phoned lyme bay cottages today, they were really helpful - if the cottages don't have high chairs, stair gates etc than they will hire them, they also hire out buggies, back carriers etc which will be really useful. should get brochure through tomorrow so will have a good look through it.
also phoned bulstone hotel - man there very helpful too!

Hi all - I am also booked to go the Bulstone Hotel in August...

Elliot have you been yet? Your post said you are going in July and I just wondered what you made of it. Perhaps you are just sunning yourself there at the moment!
