Has anyone on MN been to Venezuela and if so what are your experiences?

No, but I know several Venezuelan families. On visits home, they are still packing cases with every kg of permittable baggage allowance with second hand clothes, unwanted (even opened) medicine and first aid materials -we are talking paracetamol, plasters, antiseptic wipes, the basics, or toys.

Right now, I wouldn't go unless I had family there. Why do you ask?

Same as above. My friend went back to see her parents a couple of years ago and she literally took a suitcase full of toiletries- not even good ones just hotel toothbrushes etc.

I have been but many years ago when it was much more stable. I wouldn’t consider going now.

@Fuebomba0 from my Venezuelan friends: do not go. From every Venezuelan person I met during my SA travels last year: do not go. I'd wait until the country is settled again, which could be a long time, but if you're into that kind of thing then I'd do your research and understand the restrictions you will face and possible situations you may find yourself in

The foreign office are advising people not to travel there due to crime and instability.
