Where can I take my old friends?

I've got some friends coming down this weekend who we haven't seen for about a year and I'm slightly worried what to do with them! I know this is a ridiculous thing to think as we were once very close and know deep down that we will have fun whatever we do but we have 2 kids and they have none (although they are desperately trying, which slightly compounds the issue).

I live in South West, any ideas on what we can do for a good day out?

eden project? or is it too far? nice walk on a beach, followed by a meal in a pub that doesn't mind kids?(as opposed to a child orientated one)
stately home that has nice gardens and a playground so a bit of something for everyone?

cant you get them to go and play a t a frindds for an hour or so so you can have lunch - remember how unudsed to having allt he noise you are pre kids?

hoiw south west? jyust go out for a walk?

prufrock · 13/10/2004 19:56

Why do you want to take them out? Surely they are coming to see you and your kids, not the sites of the south-west.
Why don't you just send the men out with your kids for a long walk so you and your girlfriend get teh chance for a catch up whilst making lunch?

coddy's suggestion a good one if you can wangle it.

or if not make sure you get the kids absolutely knackered and into bed earlier than usual so you can have a nice long evening together

DP now has bronchitis so it looks like we going to canel it anyway! This is the third time this weekend has been cancelled, fortunately the first two were them not us but its now getting ridiculous.

Thanks for the advice though. I was going to settle for a walk on the beach (if you can call the mud flats near Weston a beach)and then a nice pub lunch. Thought that would knacker the kids out and give my friends a taste of life out of London.
