Austria still has restrictions for UK travellers unless you can show a negative covid test 4 days before travel. Is this possible for a whole family?

It's a big ask to get a whole family to get a test done and results back just before travel. I've looked at various holidays but not sure I could risk the test coming back in time for the flight

Don't see why it wouldn't be possible. You could book you all in at a drive thru centre. I had text results through for both of ours in less than 12 hours.

12 hours? That's quick, thought it would take a lot longer

The drive in centres are for those with symptoms and have to be pre booked round by us. Plus, it’s a service to be used to try and identify those people who have it, then isolate and track and trace, not a free service so you can go on holiday..........

Sorry if that sounds a bit off. My sister works at one of the sites and has been working solidly throughout. She said it wouldn’t even cross her mind to use this service to get proof to go on holiday.

You can get tests done privately if you Google.

You're right, probably best to find a private test if necessary. Don't think I could be bothered with the risk, expense or discomfort

If you had a test 4 days before you went I don't think it would mean anything because you could still get Covid after that.

I have to have a test every week at work because they can only show whether you had it at that particular time.

Who says the OP wants a holiday? She could need to travel to Austria for all sorts of reasons. Family funeral etc.
