Me and dh are going at the end of next month for a couple of nights just for a break together.
We used to stay at the Central Hotel but it had gone a bit tatty (thats about 3 years ago) even though was perfectly located.

Can anyone recommend similarly placed hotel close to Grafton Street/Temple Bar area.

Dont want to pay more than £80-£100 a night (inc brekkie if poss) as we will spend most of the time drinking not in the hotel

I stayed at The Custom House but its not very central.

They are a good chain of hotels- I think that they have one very close to grafton st

has anyone stayed at the Best Western Academy Plaza?

We stayed at the Christchurch Jury's Inn in August. It is fine, close to Temple Bar and reasonably priced.

TnOgu · 26/09/2007 23:05

I'd recommend Jury's Inn

mosschops30 · 27/09/2007 14:53

Its also £95 per night

why cant i find a decent room for under £90 dh says we're not going if we cant find anything cheaper in the centre, and I have to book the flights by tonight

Its Dublin, doubtful you will find much cheaper, 90 for the 2 of you is pretty good.

mosschops30 · 27/09/2007 14:58

I would expect to spend £70 in major cities (like here in Cardiff, or Newcastle) and can stay in a boutique in Manchester for £90 but think its a bit steep for basic Jurys.

Comfort Inn at Smithfield is pretty cheap.

Arlington is another cheapish one, central to absolutely everything.

Parliament hotel is right in Temple bar and is pretty cheap as well.

Arlington is FAB Mosschops- when we went they had Irish Dancers in the Bar on the afternoon!
Very central also.

mosschops30 · 28/09/2007 19:33

we have finally booked. I have been to the Arlington before, great for a few drinks but the accom was quite expensive!

We got a room for about £65 a night just off O'Connel Street, which is the opposite side of the river to where we normally stay but it should be good, will be different.

Thanks for all your help
